A bit about me ...

I grew up in the 1970s in an around Cambridge surrounded by colour and glamour thanks to my parents; my father loves art and my mother was a wizard with a sewing machine. I loved to look at the paintings on the walls and for treats I occasionally was taken to watch the ballet at Covent Garden or an art exhibition. There was never really anything else I wanted to do other than be an artist and I remember at the age of fourteen copying a Monet in my bedroom with oil paint! I think it was pretty good.. sadly nothing of my early work exists, which is probably why I hoard my own children's work! I went to art college in Kingston upon Thames studying Graphics and Illustration after a year on a foundation course in Cambridge. All that said I am a self taught painter as my work developed and changed a great deal as I started to work as a freelance illustrator.

In the 1990s I also worked as the product manager for Card Connection - and before that I had three years working as an in house artist with the greeting card and wrapping paper company International  Greetings. Both experiences mean that I have experience of the publishing world at both ends. I have commissioned work from other artists and have also placed print. Now I illustrate for private clients and run my own micro business Ink Paint Paper, designing paper goods  and hand painted wooden pieces. You can visit that shop here at

I live in the county of big skies - North Norfolk in the U.K. with my photographer husband Tony Buckingham and our two teenage children.

Illustration and Design Service

I adore colour and the accidental marks that give a painting or inked drawing life.

If you are looking for a versatile illustrator who creates decorative, expressive work then I can definitely help. As you will see from my illustration portfolio I love to create cute characters and black and white ink line work,  just as much as painterly work.

I can also use my lettering and hand writing skills to create vector (scaleable) writing or illustrations for use in your branding and packaging. I have worked with a handful of clients to create their logos, illustrations and strap lines in my hand writing and ink style.

As soon as it's ready I will share a page about this service I offer small businesses.

Fine Art

I have been painting for nearly 3 decades, though it's something I have always done in some form or other! When I paint from life i really enjoy looking at how light affects the colour of things. Painting from imagination appeals to me greatly too but in an ideal world I will discover a way to combine both.. that's a work in progress.

Much of the work I've done has been turned into greeting cards and other works are in private collections throughout the UK and Europe. I have had just one solo exhibition at the Garden House Gallery in Cromer;  but also take part in the North Norfolk Open Studios where I sell original paintings, prints and paper goods from my own brand Ink Paint Paper. The next one coming up is for 3 consecutive weekends beginning on May 26th 2018. Paintings will also be available for sale here from the end of June - beginning of July.

It has arrived and it’s amazing. Thank you so much. Really delighted.
